First-Day Setup Guide

Welcome to SlonAxis! As a business owner, your priority is getting your salon up and running so you can start taking bookings, managing staff, and generating revenue.

This guide answers the most important question: "I just purchased this software. What should I do first?"

The First-Day Checklist

Follow this exact order to ensure your salon is fully operational before your first customer walks in.

Step 1: Set Up Your First Branch

Before anything else, you need a physical location recorded in the system.

  1. Go to Manage → Branches → + Add Branch.
  2. Enter your salon's address and contact details.
Why do this first?

Everything else (staff, inventory, sales) must be assigned to a specific branch. The branch is the foundation of your entire system.

Step 2: Add Your Staff

Your salon cannot operate without employees.

  1. Go to Manage → Employees.
  2. Add your staff members (Receptionists, Stylists, Managers).
  3. Assign them the correct roles immediately.
tip

See Staff & Branches to understand how permissions work for each role.

Step 3: Build Your Global Catalog (The Menu)

Your catalog is your menu of offerings.

  1. Go to Manage → Global Catalog.
  2. Add Services (e.g., Haircut), Products (e.g., Shampoo bottle for sale), and Packages (e.g., Bridal Package).
Why a "Global" catalog?

If you open a second branch later, they share this master menu. You only have to create "Premium Haircut" once and it's available across all locations.

Step 4: Configure Branch Listings (Pricing)

Now, tell the system what you actually sell at your specific branch.

  1. Go to Manage → Branch Listings.
  2. Add items from the Global Catalog to your branch.
  3. Set your specific branch pricing (e.g., Downtown branch might charge more than Suburban branch).

Step 5: Enter Opening Inventory

If you sell products (like shampoos), you need stock.

  1. Go to Manage → Inventory & Ledger.
  2. Add opening stock (e.g., 50 bottles of Shampoo).
warning

The system prevents you from selling products you don't have. Services (like haircuts) do not require inventory.

Step 6: You Are Ready to Bill!

Your system is now fully configured. You can go to the Home screen and start adding items to the cart for your very first customer!
